It's Time To Prepare Your Garden For The Summer
Pave the way for a beautful Summer garden by preparing now. Pruning whilst your plants, shrubs & trees are dormant encourages new & healthy growth as soon as temperatures starts to rise.
Why Is It Important to Prune?
Our Top Pruning Tips...
If buds are visible, prune just above (3-4mm) to ensure you don't damage the bud & prevent leaving a ‘snag’ of the stem. For trees, make your pruning cuts just beyond the branch collar to avoid damaging the trunk.
Always make your cut at a 45° degree angle. The top of the cut should slant away from the bud, following the direction the bud is pointing. For branches, the angle should be kicking out from the base of the tree.
Using the correct tool is extemely important to ensure you can get a clean cut at 45°. Remember to keep the tool blades sharp and use organic disinfection to prevent disease transmission.
